1995 ls400 egr problem

First i would like to thank everyone here in advance for their help, i have read many posts here and i know you guys know your stuff, and i greatly appreciate your expertise.  (bowing to the lexus gods)
 
I have an egr that is locked closed and the car runs better now then when it worked, no pinging or nothing, and in oregon those arent needed as we dont have the california emission standards.
 
What i would like to do is find out the resistor value needed in order to fool the sensor so i can turn that check engine lite off, because as is i run it with the light on and have for a year, its runs great.
 
But if something else goes wrong i have no way of knowing. please tell me how to make my lexus think the egr is functioning. and save me from having to buy a new egr valve and having it installed, i would do it but i cant afford it. please help
