I had R12 freeon added last week.  It all leaked out the same day.  4 days later, the engine overheated and ruptured a the radiator hose.  I replaced the hose, and added antifreeze.  1 hour later, the engine overheated again and the antifreeze was gone.  The next morning I started the car to see if it would get hot and the thermostat went to hot in 4 minutes just idling. If anyone can offer advice, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

there are number of possible reasons or causes of overheating: a  low coolant level; a coolant leak; a defective thermostat; poor airflow through the radiator; a collapsed lower lexus radiator hose; a slipping fan clutch; an eroded or loose water pump impeller or a deffective radiator cap. it would be best to check and re-check everything. keep us informed of what other things did you notice. good luck

it could possibly be the thermostat.....  i had a faulty thermostat and once it was replaced no problems...

what actually happened was the car would overheat.... i would turn on the heater and vent it and the car would run fine.... but once i turned the heater vent off then it would start to heat up again....i kept adding freon but it was getting annoying.... i took it in to get looked at and they told me it was the thermostat... if you are mechanically inclined you could do it yourself and by a thermostat for less then $20 i think.
