Lexus IS reliability - 12/23/2007 12:34:54 PM    mkaresh   Posts: 39 Joined: 3/3/2007 Status: offline Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so it's possible to provide reliability information on new models quickly. Also, any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly. No year of the IS is currently included in the survey, but a number are over half way to the minimum, and the 2006 is just four owners short. Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter. To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results for free. The 2006 IS wasn't in them, but will likely be in the next update, in August. Other years will be included once more owners sign up. This could be a result of the small sample sizefor which this result is asterisked. With additional participants, we can provide a more precise result for the 2006 and include additional model years.
