I was wondering if LS430 O2 sensor or Oxygen Sensor is a common problem ? Because Ive repaired and replaced more than 8 units of them with the same problem?... when it appears Checked engine i diagnos with the computer, the same problem on every each unit. When that happens I could only replaced new oxygen sensors then it never happens. Isnt O2 sensor or Oxygen sensors suppose to lasts a very long time? There are 4 pieces of oxygen sensors 2 pieces front and 2 pieces at the rear... the faulty ones are the front ones. The rear ones hardly have that problem. Anyhow if you must know the parts here i can provide you with it part numbers Front O2 sensors -Left side = 89465-50130 -Right side = 89465-50120 Rear 02 sensors -Both are the same part numbers = 89465-50140 Failed or worn out oxygen sensors can cause: - Failed Emission Tests
- Increased Fuel Consumption
- Failed Catalytic Converters
- Poor Driveability
- Increased Emissions
Okay ... any of u guys have that kinda problem? Let ud share and be aware of it :) rockerfella174 Brunei Darussalam.

Well, i have not had that problem yet on my ls430, but plenty of cars we get in the shop have the costomer complaining about poor fuel economy. The o2 sensor is one of the first items we check. The reason is that it gets heated to over 300 degrees and have the micro chips were out quickly. I just dont see why Lexus would overlook the quality of the o2 sensor on the LS models, see as how there is not a lot of cost-cutting on Lexus cars

My mechanic mentioned that 9/10 times it is due to a faulty O2 sensor. When i replaced one of my Lexus oxygen sensor, it cost me $224 for just the part. i called a few local lexus dealerships to get the cheapest price. highest i was qouted was 280 plus tax.. i would go through the warranty if i were you.. if not, i suggest you call around and check prices. also, i don't think it's a good idea to buy one of those universal o2 sensors.
